Shahid Khaqan disagrees with PML-N's approach to facilitate Nawaz's return to power
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former prime minister Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi stated on Saturday that he disagrees with the PML-N’s approach to hand the next government to supremo Nawaz Sharif.
Interacting with media at the Al-Hamra Hall in Lahore, Abbasi asserted that a politician should have the courage to express disagreements within their party.
He stated that he did not agree with the way Nawaz Sharif was being brought to the helm. “Mian Nawaz Sharif should come on 30 seats instead of 100, even without the establishment, as long as there is no moral decline.”
Abbasi clarified that there was no power in the chair in Pakistan, noting that he was not the prime minister but was given employment.
He pointed out that the PTI ruled through theft, and the PML-N ruled through dacoity.
The former PM disclosed that he had no political relationship with the PML-N anymore, adding that Maryam Nawaz was not the reason he distanced himself from the party.
Abbasi criticised the PML-N for humiliating Miftah Ismail, stating that they should not have accepted his resignation.
Criticising the accountability watchdog, he said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was humiliating and insulting politicians.
